Playing with layers allows for unexpected colour combinations, and one of my favourites is fluoro with pastel, in this case a cold fluoro pink with delicate pale blue. And if you look through the organza you’ll see the creation of a purple too. Magic.

Re/lax Remade turns vintage towels into hats. Founded by northern Sydney creative Karina Barker, it is enjoying wonderful success as a small, sustainable business, and was recently featured in Vogue Australia.

This Re/lax Remade hat is made of a seafoam and mustard geometric towel by 60s designer Pierre Cardin.

I styled it with a vintage organza blouse/jacket, hired for a week from Bell Street, worn over a thrifted Dazie bodysuit, with grey crochet vintage skirt, also hired from Bell Street, and 60s gold pumps.
